MONROE COUNTY REOPENED BOAT RAMP, PLAYGROUND AND BEACH AREA OF HARRY HARRIS PARK IN TAVERNIER

Harry Harris Park Reopens Feb. 9-6

TAVERNIER, FL – Monroe County reopened the boat ramp, kids’ playground, beach area and beach area bathrooms of Harry Harris Park on Feb. 9 at sunrise.

Hours at the park will be sunrise to sunset for now due to the lack of power for lights caused by damage sustained during Hurricane Irma.

Also due to Hurricane Irma, the boat ramp now has a temporary gravel approach rather than asphalt.

Park areas north of the boat ramp, including Wilkinson Point and the athletic fields, will remain closed until County crews can restore these areas and make them safe for the public.

Monroe County’s public works crews also have been repairing damage to Big Pine Key Community Park. A portion of that park is expected to open soon.

And Monroe County’s Watson Field – Dog Park & Tennis Courts are open. They are beautiful. Clay recently was delivered to enable the reopening of the ballfield during daylight hours. The ballfield lights still need to be repaired.
