"Take Stock in the Rock" - Stock Island Clean Up2018-12-01T07:00:00Monroe County Solid Waste will be collecting household hazardous waste and electronic waste at Bernstein Park. Volunteers & residents are needed for the cleanup. Come as individuals, groups, businesses, civic organizations. You can register online at www.ilovestockisland.org or show up on Saturday.
It’s rain or shine. Dress for your task. Bring your own tools. Trash bags, gloves and grabbers are being provided. Donations are appreciated. For residents on Stock Island, this week also is for cleaning up your bulk waste: furniture, mattresses, appliances, air conditioners, car tires (without rims), BBQ grills (no propane tanks, bikes, rolled-up carpeting and more. It will be collected for free this week by calling 305-296-8297.
You can also drop off items for reuse/recycle on Saturday at Bernstein Park. This includes: cell phones, iPads, cigarette waste for Teracycle, books, blankets, towels, canned goods, clothing, art supplies, travel toiletries, used cooking oil and aluminum cans.
