Responsibilities

The Purchasing Department is a service-oriented agency for the operating departments of Monroe County's government. Purchasing assists in the purchase of products and services for the many and varied needs of county taxpayers.

Bidding

Competitive bidding of bulk purchases by sealed bids, RFPs, and RFQs is conducted by the department to ensure we receive the best items at the best prices. In an era of continuing financial stress, purchasing is a positive resource for cost containment.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Purchasing Department is to provide quality purchasing and contracting support to all county departments in a timely, cost-effective, and professional manner.
