The 11 a.m. Monday Hurricane Irene tracking map takes the Middle Keys, Lower Keys and Key West out of the four- and five-day tropical cyclone forecast track-error cone. The Upper Keys and most of the Florida peninsula remain in the cone.
Monroe County Emergency Management officials continue to advise Keys residents and visitors not to be complacent and urged continued monitoring of the storm and be prepared to take action in the event of a change in forecast track.
Irene is forecast to eventually become a major hurricane over the northwestern Bahamas.
