Public Information Open House
Roadway Project on State Road 5/N. Roosevelt Boulevard in Key West
Key West – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will hold a public information open house for the upcoming State Road (SR) 5/N. Roosevelt Boulevard Roadway Project, between Eisenhower Drive and US 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, at the Grand Key DoubleTree Resort located at 3990 S. Roosevelt Boulevard, in Key West. The open house will follow an informal format, allowing the public to arrive at any time between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Graphic displays will be available and project team members will be on hand to answer questions regarding the project.
The SR 5/N. Roosevelt Boulevard Roadway Project is expected to begin on Monday, April 16. Construction will last about two years and cost about $41.5 million. Scheduled work includes: reconstructing N. Roosevelt Boulevard; replacing the existing seawall and promenade; installing a new storm water drainage system; replacing traffic signals with a hurricane-resistant system; installing new street lights; installing new landscaping; and replacing existing water and sewer lines in coordination with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority and the City of Key West.
