[ARCHIVED] MONROE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE RESPONDS TO FATAL VEHICULAR ACCIDENT ON LONG KEY BRIDGE

LONG KEY, FL – Monroe County Fire Rescue responded about 1:45 p.m. Thursday to a three-vehicle accident on Long Key Bridge, near Mile Marker 66 on the Overseas Highway. The accident left one woman dead and three others with non-life threatening injuries.

Monroe County Fire Rescue transported the three injured people to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier.

The bridge was closed in both directions to enable the vehicles to be removed and for Florida Highway Patrol to conduct its accident investigation. As of 4:45 p.m., the road remained closed.
