Eve M. Lewis is a south Florida native with a passion for public service and environmental sustainability. She graduated from the University of Florida, where she received her B.S. in Telecommunication from the College of Journalism and her B.A. in Political Science, as a dual major. She earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center. In 2019, Eve became a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in City, County, and Local Government Law. She’s been practicing for over a decade providing legal counsel on various aspects of government law, including, but not limited to: litigation, procurement, business transactions, criminal justice, public governance, environmental conservation, land planning, employment, construction, ethics, regulatory licensing, public utilities and franchises, and information technology.
Prior to working for the Monroe County Attorney’s Office, she worked in-house as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Coconut Creek, Florida, and as an Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida. Eve has served as an appointed advisory board member of the Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC”) Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee, and served on the Innovation and Access Working Group of the FCC’s Communications Equity and Diversity Council. Eve’s work aimed to improve contracting and grant opportunities for small and diverse businesses as a priority of federal lawmakers under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021. In 2023, Eve was invited to speak on the topic of government contracts at the annual conferences of both the Florida Municipal Attorney’s Association and Florida Association of Police Attorneys. Most recently, Eve served as the chairperson for the Government Section of the Broward County Bar Association. She enjoys spending time on the water and exploring the Florida Keys with her husband and two daughters.
Ms. Lewis represents the County's Fire Rescue, Wastewater, and Community Services Departments including Veterans Affairs.
